| This series of pages documents the
September 1998 expedition of John Mascavage (me), David Pumpelly, and John
Brislin to the summit of the highest point in Africa (Kilimanajaro's 19,300 foot peak
- located at the northern end of Tanzania) and our subsequent safari through
the Serengeti, the Nongorogoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. I have organized this "album" chronologically and
included my journal entries that I kept during the climb - I have also added
additional commentary to share more of what was going on with our crew during
the trip.
